Melchior Palyi (1892–1970) was a Hungarian-American economist, educator, and financial expert. He taught at universities in Kiel, Göttingen, and Berlin before moving to the United States, where he taught at the University of Chicago, the University of Wisconsin, and Northwestern University. He also served as chief economist to the Deutsche Bank in Berlin and as a scientific advisor to the Reichsbank of Germany.
