This book offers a transcript of the three-day conference on "The Economics of Mobilization" with a brief review of the issues raised, the conclusions reached, and agreement and disagreement expressed. A mobilization program is to be judged by three principal criteria: the rapidity and efficiency with which the required resources are allocated to the defense effort, the extent to which inflation is prevented, and the extent to which other inequities and hardships are minimized.
