Paul A. Cantor is Clifton Waller Barrett Professor of English at the University of Virginia, and has published widely on Shakespeare, Romanticism, comparative literature, and literary theory. He is known for his interdisciplinary work in political theory, econom ics, and popular culture. In 2007, he was Visiting Professor of Government at Harvard University, teaching courses on Shakespeare and politics. He attended Ludwig von Mises's NYU seminar in 1961-62 and has been active in the Mises Institute, giving a series of lectures on commerce and culture in 2006 (available at www.mises.org). His most recent book is Gilligan Unbound: Pop Culture in the Age of Globalization (Rowman and Littlefield, 2001).

Stephen Cox is Professor of Literature and Director of the Humanities Program at the University of California, San Diego. He is the author of “The Stranger Within Thee”: Concepts of the Self in Late-Eighteenth-Century Literature (University of Pittsburgh Press, 1980); Love and Logic: The Evolution of Blake's Thought (University of Michigan Press, 1992); The Titanic Story (Open Court, 1999); The Woman and the Dynamo: Isabel Paterson and the Idea of America (Transaction, 2004); The New Testament and Literature (Open Court, 2006); and The Big House: Image and Reality of the American Prison (Yale University Press, 2009).

Darío Fernández-Morera teaches at Northwestern University. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University. He has written and edited books and articles on cultural practices in the humanities, the encounter between Europeans and Amerindians, modern poetry, Modernism, Islamic Spain, and sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Spanish literature, including Cervantes. Among his publications are American Academia and the Survival of Marxist Ideas (Praeger, 1996); The Lyre and the Oaten Flute: Garcilaso and the Pastoral (Tamesis Books, 1982); Cervantes in the English-Speaking World, ed. (Reichenberger, 2006); Cervantes y su mundo II (Reichenberger, 2005); Fray Luis de Leon: Poesia, ed. (Madrid: Alianza, 1986); and Europe and the Encounter with the Amerindians, ed. (Oxford: Pergamon Press, 1985).

Chandran Kukathas holds the Chair in Political Theory in the Government Department at the London School of Economics. He is the author of Hayek and Modern Liberalism (Oxford University Press, 1989) and The Liberal Archipelago: A Theory of Diversity and Freedom (Oxford University Press, 2003).

Thomas Peyser is an English professor at Randolph-Macon College and a film critic for Style Weekly. He is the author of Utopia and Cosmopolis: Globalization in the Era of American Literary Realism (Duke University Press, 1998).
