0:00One of the problems with the explosion of interest in Menger is that there is also an ideological risk connected with this hidden agenda and the accolades given to Menger, namely the depreciation and deprecation of von Boehm-Bawerk. So as Menger has been lauded as the great founder of the Austrian School, which he was indeed, the achievements of von Boehm-Bawerk have even been denigrated or forgotten and sort of stuffed away. and this is part of what I call the nihilist trend in the modern Austrian movement. There's also a sort of an attempt to claim that Menger and Boehm-Bawerk were totally different, disagreed on almost everything and so forth and so on. I don't think that's true. I'm not prepared to state one way or the other. Let's say for one thing, Menger's papers have not been uncorked yet or studied. I think this is an artificial distinction.
