Ok, this is not about government or politicians, but such comments as Gates’ will necessarily call for government intervention. Gates does not understand that the very wealth his company created has helped the poor in numerous ways, the very least of which — by a mile — is in giving jobs directly to receptionists, janitors, parking attendants, and the like. To the extent that any poor person who wants to advance is not doing so is because they are being prevented by government. What Gates is really calling for in wanting to help the poor, but does not realize it, is for the legalization of capitalism.
