0:00It seems simplistic, but it's really true. Nobody reads German. Nobody in Anglo-Saxon world, no scholars read German. So the German literature is cut off from us. I conclude myself, I don't read German either. But it's true in general. Keynes admitted one. Keynes reviewed The Theory of Money and Credit when it came out in the economic journal. He said, well, it's interesting, but not much new in it. Later on, 40 years later or something, he writes in his diary or tells somebody that, well, he didn't really know German, and he knew German well enough to understand what he already knew, But he didn't know enough to understand new things, right? This joker has a nerve to review a book in German! I mean, I wouldn't review a book in German! Why is he doing it?
